A Cottage-Core elopement in the Big Horn Mountains

Cottage-core ~ Earthy ~ Chic

Minnesota wedding photographer Britney Moser traveled to Sheridan to capture this magical Wyoming destination wedding.

Alexandra wanted her day full of earthy textures in white and green and a little pop of yellow as a nod to her yellow diamond engagement ring.

She wore a stunning bias-cut gown from A La Robe from The Dress Theory in Seattle made from silk crepe de chine with French lace detailing. With an ivory V-neck with lace details, she looked incredible atop our favorite Big Horn Mountains.

These lovebirds planned a destination wedding in the Big Horn Mountains and a small celebration with their closest friends and family. They chose to stand up without a bridal party and her friends picked dresses in colors of blue and green to match the wedding theme.

Sage Wedding Inspiration

Sage or soft green is a universal wedding color. It works with any color palette or season. Here are a few of my favorite weddings featuring bridesmaids in sage or green dresses. Click any image to see more from their wedding day and how their inspiration pulled in Sage green.

A mountaintop wedding in green

Bride and groom overlooking a mountaintop lake for a destination wedding at Meadowlark Lake in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming

These lovebirds planned a mountaintop ceremony at Meadowlark Ski Lodge in August. They were gifted with a gloriously sunny, bluebird day (without wildfire smoke!) surrounded by their friends and loved ones.

Jewel wanted a bouquet that had a woodsy feel, full of ferns, succulents, lots of texture, and a calming feel. I used rosemary, a giant large tillandsia xerographica air plant, and silvery protea along with eucalyptus and delicate white orchids to go with her theme of dark green and silver for their August wedding colors.

They used our customizable tiny wedding packages for their wedding, splurging on the bouquet of her dreams, a boutonniere for the groom, and a special arrangement for their reception in the lodge.

World Traveler's Destination Wedding in Wyoming

That happy, just married glow.

That happy, just married glow.

When I initially spoke with Amina, they lived in Chicago and were prepping for a big move to South Africa. It was a dream come true and something they’d both worked hard for.

In the meantime, they had a wedding to plan in Wyoming - a place she’d never even been. Matthew grew up spending summers at the Historic Eaton’s Ranch just outside of Sheridan, WY and it was the perfect place to host their families for a simple destination wedding in Wyoming. We planned all her florals over email with a quick call before they left.

She wanted her custom gown from Alexandra Grecco to provide a canvas for her flowers. A bouquet of whites with lots of green and brown textures. I used white garden roses, dried poppy pods from my garden, green millet for texture and a variety of foliages including grevelia, eucalyptus, and ferns. We don’t have many local flowers but a single perfect love in a puff vine added the perfect finishing touch.

You can find their wedding featured by Alexandra Grecco here. When I asked Amina about her dress, she said it was simple and elegant and without embellishment. She wanted to the flowers to add stand out and shine. A bride after my own heart.

A Big Horn Mountain Wedding

When I heard about the party Sean and Anastasia planned in the Bighorn Mountains, I was excited to be a part of it. A weekend of fun with their friends and family, a ceremony near the river followed by dinner and dancing under the trees.

They wanted florals to match the mountains in June - lots of texture, bursting with green and just a hint of color. After describing their vision, they gave me free reign to make something perfect for them.
