Flowers with Friends

After attending a gathering for friends in 2018 around flowers and fun drinks, Meg asked if I would host a private class in her home the next time I had a chance to visit Colorado. Earlier this month I made a trip down with my kiddos to visit family and see a favorite band play. I had a free morning and scheduled a class around mimosas and flowers with Meg and some of her girlfriends.

I choose a base of salal, boronia and forsythia and used a few roses and the season’s best ranunculus for focal flowers. We made arrangements, enjoyed some tasty snacks and talked all things flowers. Thank you for having me and capturing the fun! Ps - Meg is a pretty phenomenal photographer too!

Look like fun? Let’s plan a party! I love bringing people together around flowers. Classes for 4 - 12 people available - I bring the flowers and tools, you bring the friends and laughter.

Denver Arranging Class

I grew up in Colorado along the Front Range and attended college in Ft. Collins, CO. While I haven’t lived in Colorado in over 15 years I still regularly travel home to see family and visit a few friends. After hosting a series of flower arranging classes in Sheridan, people were clambering for a chance to play with flowers in Colorado too!

The boy joined me for a weekend at his Auntie’s house with cousins and flowers.

I planned a casual Saturday afternoon class at the super cool Rocker Spirits in Littleton, CO. The guys opened up early for us, shoveled snow and served up some stellar cocktails while we played with some super bright and fun Spring flowers.

In an attempt to break free from the typical flowers found in February I went with punchy and bright oranges and yellows. Garden Roses in yellow, orange protea and crazy fun yellow Mimosa provided texture while tulips and stock provided bulk.

As we had the space completely to ourselves, we moved the tables around and guests choose a vase for making. Cocktails and flowers are a pretty great combo.

We had sisters, college friends, childhood neighbors and the world’s coolest aunt in attendance.

I highly recommend Rocker Spirits for a fun date night out & superb seasonal cocktail. If you’re in the greater Denver area go visit! Grab a bite from their food truck to pair with your drink!

I’m hoping this can be an annual event for us to gather, catch up on life and create something beautiful together. Who’s in for 2019? Make sure you’re signed up for our email list to stay in the loop and get notifications for future classes.

Winter & Spring Class Schedule

All of the gatherings I hosted around flowers in 2017 filled my heart to overflowing. Today I'm launching a few new classes for 2018. I'll bring the best flowers of the season from anemones to tulips, all the tools you'll need and a little inspiration for our time together. Bring an open heart, willing hands and a friend to laugh and create with and everyone goes home with a smile and flowers to enjoy for the week. Check out the classes page to see availability and sign up!

Space is limited and registration closes one week prior to each class. If you are interested in hosting a private class for a special occasion like a birthday, bridal or baby shower, graduation or other celebration - please let me know! I'd love to plan something just for you and the people you love.

A Christmas Class

Today I was joined by a lively group of women  - we ate scones, filled the room with laughter and made some beautiful centerpieces. Each unique and reflecting the maker.  We used camellia foliage (with buds!) juniper and mint for our greenery, gorgeous heart roses, red spray roses, white ranunculus and a sweeping spray of James Storie Orchids. These arrangements turned out lush and so fragrant.

Last night I finished all my prep for the class and took a few little bits to make a fun and festive wreath/crown - perhaps my favorite one ever!
